Diabetes has had a profound effect on my life and those of my friends, family, and loved ones. As you may know, type 1 (juvenile) diabetes is a devastating disease, and while insulin does keep people with type 1 diabetes alive, it’s NOT a cure. That’s why I’m committed to fighting for a cure through the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation’s (JDRF) Advocacy program. Please join me in this effort to make a cure for type 1 diabetes a reality.
JDRF is the leading charitable funder and advocate of type 1 (juvenile) diabetes research worldwide. JDRF is dedicated to finding a cure for diabetes and its complications through the support of research. Since its founding in 1970, JDRF has given more than $1.16 billion to diabetes research.
Though JDRF is the leading charitable funder of diabetes research, the federal government plays an even more important role in the effort to find a cure for type 1 diabetes as the world’s largest funder of diabetes research. We need YOUR help to ensure federal support of diabetes research remains strong.
Time Magazine called JDRF “one of the nation’s most forceful disease advocacy groups.” When it comes to fighting type 1 diabetes, JDRF’s strength lies in our numbers and the ability of our Advocates to work together to build bonds—bonds with one another, as well as with our Members of Congress. The relationships built through our
advocacy program strengthen our community, provide support for those who are living with type 1 diabetes, and deliver our message—the need for a cure—faster and more effectively.
Just a few minutes of your time each year will make a difference in this crucial effort. Please join me and other JDRF Advocates by registering today.
